Who are ARRINGTON & Associates? We are a small team of real estate professionals who combine the best of two worlds - having several people available to serve you efficiently so you get answers quickly, and having an experienced, respected, and award-winning agent - Nellie Arrington - directly working with you in this important part of your life. Frankly, it’s not until something in the transaction doesn’t go well that most consumers realize they’ve made the wrong choice in agents. What makes Nellie different from others is that she will work with you to decide what is in your best interest (sometimes telling you gently what you need to know, not what you want to hear!), and then advocate for you. She’s always professional, always focused, and always remembering that you are her client. NELLIE ARRINGTON, CRS Since starting in general brokerage with Long & Foster in 1986, Nellie has been one of the top agents in her area ranked by sales success. She has been a member of the company’s Gold Team of stellar agents for more than 15 consecutive years. An associate broker in Maryland and Certified Residential Specialist from the National Association of Realtors, she offers clients the benefits of significant additional training. She has written for and been interviewed by local and major regional newspapers, consulted to attorneys and pre-construction residential developers, and taught classes of new agents for Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., and the Howard County Association of Realtors. Nellie is a native Howard Countian, now living in Ellicott City, and has a lengthy list of volunteer activities in schools, 4H, civic and business groups, and her congregation that earned her the Howard County Association of Realtors’ first Community Service award in 1999. She is a graduate of Howard County public schools, McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College), and The Johns Hopkins University. Daughter Elyse received her bachelor’s degree in music education at the University of Maryland College Park, while Meredith studies at Philadelphia University to pursue a degree in interior design. Both are graduates of Howard County schools - Waverly and Hollifield Station elementary schools, Patapsco Middle, and Mount Hebron High School. MARGE AUSTIN, GRI, ABR Marge is of counsel to ARRINGTON & Associates since becoming Assistant Manager of the Columbia office where we are based in 2004. As a partner in the team, she represented buyers, and handled post-contract issues such as home inspections and lender follow-up - the primary issues where problems can develop in any transaction. Although her focus has changed to working with other agents in the general office here, Marge remains available to the team, which works with her clients directly. A graduate of Howard High School and University of Maryland Baltimore County, Marge’s daughter, Kim, and son, Brad, attended Running Brook Elementary, Wilde Lake Middle, and Wilde Lake High schools. Kim graduated from University of Maryland College Park, and works in biotechnology research in San Diego, while Brad graduated from Culinary Institute of New York and is a chef in Aspen.
